Her Story
Two Decades of Montreal Flowers
Elvira Louka learned her craft hands-on, working for 10 years alongside some of Montreal’s most prestigious florists before starting her own business. Along the way she worked on every kind of occasion: weddings, Bar Mitzvahs, corporate events and private parties.
She created the flowers for Céline Dion’s 10th wedding anniversary, and for about three years she decorated Céline Dion’s home with flowers. She was also part of the floral team for the weddings of the Guzzo and Desmarais daughters.
In 2003 she founded École d’Art Floral, a floristry school in Montreal. Today the school and Elvira Floral Art Studio share the same studio on Rue St-Hubert, in Villeray. The studio focuses on weddings, and also creates flowers for events and everyday bouquets for our online boutique.
Her work has appeared in Les idées de ma maison, Paris Match, Marions-Nous and Elegant Wedding.

A Florist Who Teaches
Elvira is also a teacher. At École d’Art Floral she gives private and small-group courses to beginners, people changing careers and working florists. The basic course runs 40 hours over five weeks, half theory and half practice, and ends with an exam and a certificate.
Students can go on to creative, advanced and Zen-style courses, a floral marketing course and floral workshops. Elvira has also taught in Europe as a guest teacher, and her former students now work for florists in Montreal and elsewhere.
Teaching keeps her technique sharp and her eye on new trends. You’ll see both in your flowers.
